Social Events

The ECSS 2011 includes a set of very special social events. Beyond the already traditional conference dinner on Tuesday evening, that this year will take place in the authentic Ristorante Orti di Leonardo serving the best traditional Italian food, ECSS participants will have the opportunity to visit one of the most famous cultural sites of the world: the Leonardo da Vinci's master piece: "The Last Supper (L'ultima Cena)" at the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie, UNESCO world Heritage site. The visit is scheduled for Tuesday just after the end of the day's program and before the conference dinner.

Due to the enormous interest and touristic demand of the site, it has been very challenging to organize the visit for a group with numerous participants. To facilitate this organization we kindly ask all members that plan to attend the conference but have not registered yet to register as soon as possible!

Additional optional concert on Monday November 07

For those interested, the ECSS local organization has the possibility of getting discounted tickets for a concert of classic music in the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi on Monday November 7th. The concert Viva l'Italia, of the Quartetto Accardo, featuring pieces of Cherubini, Paganini and Verdi, starts at 21h in the Sala Verdi of the Conservatorio.

Note that this concert is not part of the regular program and should be paid separately. Interested people must send a message to Ms. Laura Caldirola (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) latest by October 15th to reserve a ticket. The normal cost of the ticket is 20 EUR, depending on the number of reservations, the price can be reduced to 10 EUR, or less.
