The Rectorate Building was awarded the “Prémio Valmor de Arquitectura 2002”, a top prize in distinguishing landmarks of Lisbon´s architectural landscape, established in 1902.
The Department of Informatics of the NOVA University of Lisbon is a pioneer institution in advanced education and research in Computer Science in Portugal. It has graduated thousands of informatics engineers and computer scientists, and currently host around 800 students enrolled in various programs and courses. The NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS) is a Portuguese leading research unit in the area of Computer Science and Engineering. It is hosted at the Department of Informatics of the NOVA University of Lisbon.

Lisbon Airport is around 10 km away from the conference venue - Universidade NOVA de Lisboa - located at Campolide Campus, Lisbon central zone.

The easiest way to reach Campolide by public transportation is the subway Red Line, directly connected to the Airport.
The closest subway station to the ECSS 2017 venue is S. Sebastião on the Red Line. Subway station S. Sebastião is 10 minutes walking distance from the conference venue.
There is also available an Airport Bus Transport service - Aerobus - that ensures regular links between the Lisbon Airport and several areas in the city.
