Job Description

Have you always thrived in a classroom, being close to students? Do you want to be part of  a Top Security and Network Engineering master program? Do you want to work closely with word-class researchers and support them in connecting to our students? We are looking for an Education Officer to support the coordination and infrastructure of our security and network engineering studies.

What are you going to do?

You will support coordinators and lecturers in developing their research-based material for security and network engineering, and computer science courses. This includes deployment of and helping students use relevant technologies (e.g. network setups for assignments, Git repositories, development environments, etc..) Additionally, you work closely with the Thesis Coordinator and the Program Director to support the student graduation process including supporting student study success in their masters program.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Development and setup of security and network engineering labs
  • Coordination of masters projects tracking and supporting student success
  • Monitoring progress of student projects
  • Helping manage the community around masters programs

What do you have to offer?

Your experience and profile:

  • MSc in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in setting up computer and network infrastructures
  • a motivational teacher, with an encouraging teaching style;
  • experience in supporting tasks and the willingness to take the responsibility for administrative tasks, such as organisation and coordination of university education and research;
  • Professional command of English

Preferably you have experience with software development infrastructures.

Our offer

We offer a temporary employment contract for 38 max hours per week for a period of 12 months. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible. If we assess your performance positive, a permanent contract will follow.

The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between € 3.377 and € 4.640 (scale 9). Depending on work experience, an initial scale may apply.

This monthly salary does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The UFO profile Education/Research officer 2 is applicable. For this position we can not sponsor a visa. The Collective Labour Agreement of Universities of the Netherlands is applicable.

About us
