Free Interactive Webinar "Creating the New Academic Normal for Informatics Researchers"
On 25 June 2020 Informatics Europe hosted the webinar "Creating the New Academic Normal for Informatics Researchers", which provided a unique development opportunity for Informatics researchers.
What do we want to take forward into our New Academic Normal? What do we want to leave behind? How will we thrive, and not just survive? How can we lead ourselves and others in research, education and civic duty whilst working remotely?
Those and further questions were addressed during the interactive webinar, which was co-led by Prof. Geraldine Fitzpatrick (TU Wien, Austria) and Prof. Austen Rainer (Queen’s University Belfast, UK).
We are happy to share the outcome of the vivid discussion about the emerging New Academic Normal:
- Video recording of the seed talk of Prof. Matthijs Bal about “Academia beyond Covid-19: A psychological perspective”
- Video recording and results of Menti poll
- Webinar Chat & Worksheet Feedback.
Finally, we would like to announce that in September – November 2020 Informatics Europe will organize an online Academic Leadership Development Course for emerging academic leaders in Informatics and Computing. This will be a highly interactive and practical course by computer scientists for computer scientists, co-led again by Prof. Geraldine Fitzpatrick and Prof. Austen Rainer.
