Goals:
With the expansion of Informatics and its growing pervasiveness in other disciplines and in society in general, Department Heads and Deans in Informatics face ever-increasing challenges.
The workshop provides
- a forum for Deans and Department Heads - experienced and new - to exchange experiences, proven strategies and best practices, focusing on concrete issues and practical solutions
- a unique networking platform for strengthening relationships among leaders at European Informatics institutions

The Pre-Summit Workshop for Deans and Department Heads is part of the European Computer Science Summit (ECSS) 2016 events. Organised annually by Informatics Europe and one of its member institutes, ECSS is the meeting place for anyone interested in strategic issues and future trends related to research, education, management, career development and policy in Informatics. With some of the world's most distinguished academics, industry leaders and policy makers on stage, the summit never fails to inspire and stimulate. This year's ECSS will be held in Budapest, Hungary, October 25-26, hosted by the Faculty of Informatics, Eotvos Lorand University. It centres on the theme "Informatics Driving the Digital World".
